ABOUT OUR SCHOOL

Excella Academy offers a comprehensive schooling program for ages 5 to 18. The curriculum follows the Cambridge International Education (CIE) framework, starting with Cambridge Primary (Grade R - 6), progressing to Cambridge Lower Secondary (Grade 7 - 9), and advancing to IGCSE, AS, and A Level in senior years.

The integrated international programme ensure a smooth transition through the years of schooling and provide the opportunity for students to succeed in a stimulating, externally validated and highly respected world-class educational programme. Ultimately, the qualifications which can be obtained by our senior students can open the doors to universities all over the world.

As Excella Academy educators, we all offer our very best to each single one of our students, regardless of age or ability, and in return, we expect them to try to become the very best version of their unique selves and to fulfil their potential wherever their skills and interests lie.

Learning is purposeful

Learning with a purpose makes the activities more engaging and clearer for the student. Students are engaged in a way that develop their willingness to be active participants in the process of learning.

Everyone can learn

Every student can learn, just not on the same day, or in the same way.

Authentic and meaningful learning
Authentic learning focuses on how students can apply their knowledge in real-world situations. This in turn provides students with meaningful learning content that makes them more engaged and motivates them to achieve their interests.

Quality over quantity education
High-quality education helps people develop the skills they are born with, be more productive in their fields as they develop more knowledge and skills.

Learning is personal
Personal learning is directed and driven by the learner. The learning process is learner centered with the aim of empowering them and having a sense of responsibility

Learning is social.
Students learn from and with others, they build on each other's experiences and understanding, they construct shared meaning, they learn behaviors and skills by observing others, they take part in communities of practice that influence their identities.

HONESTY

Honesty and integrity are important traits to have in your academic and professional life.

In school, a good student-teacher relationship come from mutual respect, integrity and trust, which means children can get the most out of their school experience.

In the real world, employers are more likely to hire someone who has a reputation for being honest and who they know they can rely on to get a task done, without having to monitor them constantly.

At Excella Academy, our aim is to show honesty in everything we do. We also show honesty in our behaviour, evidencing our golden rules wherever we are in school, even if no-one is looking.

LOYALTY

This helps the learners develop a sense of responsibility and become more trustworthy. Loyalty is also linked to self-identity and self-esteem. By being loyal to their own values and beliefs, and as youth they develop a sense of pride and self-confidence.

By loyalty, we mean that everyone:

values all members of the school community,
displays good manners at all times,
displays tolerance of others with different points of view and beliefs,
shows respect for the school buildings, facilities and surrounding environment.

PERSEVERANCE

Perseverance helps individuals stay focused and motivated, even when the journey towards achieving those goals is complex and challenging. It is linked to our capacity for resilience and growth. People have a fantastic ability to change and grow in response to problems and hard times. At Excella Academy, we encourage everyone to persevere with any task that might be asked of them, even if they find it difficult at first.
